Melanie East from the Blog Bear Rabbit Bear

For the past several months we’ve been enjoying the creative ideas  from the blog Bear Rabbit Bear Crafts and featuring them in our playtime BloggerHood.  So we were thrilled  when Melanie , the blog owner agreed to be in the blogger Spotlight.

We’ve seen greeting card puzzles, tasty recipes,  sewing tutorials and a recent favorite “paint palette cupcakes”  in the Bloggerhood and now we’ll find out  how it all started.

GPC: What inspired you to start a blog?

Melanie: My daughter inspired me to begin a blog. I was always making little things for her, and I wanted a way to share them with others.

GPC: Was it a pretty steep learning curve to get started?

Melanie: I have learned so much over the past year and a half. I feel like I didn’t really know what I was doing until after the first year. For anyone who absolutely no experience reading, writing, or following blogs (like myself), the learning curve is pretty steep.

GPC: Have you become friends with any of your blog followers?

Melanie: Yes! I’ve made some wonderful friendships along the way, and I look forward to making more!

GPC: We notice that you cover several topics on your blog such as crafts, recipes, fashion, and even health. Do you have a favorite topic to write about?

Melanie: I like to share crafts the best. When I make a craft or sew a project, I put a bit of myself into it, so that makes it extra special to share.

GPC: What types of posts have proven to be your most popular?

Melanie: Cupcakes! Readers love cupcakes. My party posts, such as my daughter’s Art Party and Minnie Mouse Party, are also reader favorites.

GPC: How do you balance blogging with your family and other work commitments?

Melanie: I set a strict schedule. I also do not blog in the evening until my daughter has gone to bed.
