Family Christmas Games: More Holiday Fun

A playful way to make memories...

Once the stockings are empty and the gifts open, its time to get everyone laughing, singing and making warm family memories.Play a Christmas tree game

Fa-La-La-La Idol
Three Wise men will be the judge

Select three “Wise men” (women too of course) to be the judges while players compete singing their favorite Christmas songs. If you have a Karaoke machine it would even be more fun. You can judge on the most dramatic, best improvisational words, charisma, humor, etc.

Oh Christmas Tree

Divide into teams. Each team selects a player to be the “tree”. The teams race to use all of the decorations provided to decorate the “tree”.

Use safe decorations like: garland, paper ornament and tape, a hat with a star, paper or popcorn chains, sticky bows.

Games with family and friends is always a great way to spend the holidays! Charades was always a favorite of mine and growing up our family put a twist on it… A traditional and easy game we used to play with larger family gatherings was “Guess Who?” – have a few people get together before the party to write down the names of celebrities, cartoon characters, etc onto slips of paper. Come up with really obscure or hard to guess characters and gather up at least 3x the amount of guests who will be playing the game. As the guests arrive, blindly pick a name and tape it to the back of their shirt so the name is facing outward. Guests can only ask “yes” or “no” questions to try and figure out who they are amongst the party-goers. Make sure that everyone sticks to only Yes or No answers to keep the fun going! There is no limit to amount of guesses, questions or wrong answers. If you guess who you are – grab another name and start over. Continue this until someone has guessed 3 different names. Pick out a special treat or small gift as a prize for who ever gets 3 names first! You could even have a goofy prize for the people who couldn’t figure out who they were…
