Father’s Day is coming up so now is the perfect time to start thinking about what you can do for Dad’s special day. We’ve put together three recipes that are simple to make but sure to make Dad’s day!

A delicious way to say thanks to Dad


Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • salt and pepper

How to Make It:

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Saute beef, onion and garlic until beef is browned and onion is soft.
  3. Stir in tomatoes with juice, tomato sauce, green pepper, kidney beans,  water and chili powder, as well as salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Bring chili to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce

How to Make It:

  1. In a plastic bag, combine flour, cayenne pepper, garlic powder and salt and shake well to mix.
  2. Rinse wings and pat with paper towel to make sure wings are completely dry.
  3. Add chicken wings to bag and shake to coat. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, coat with cooking spray, then spread wings on baking sheet and refrigerate for one hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 400° and bake wings for 45 minutes, turning halfway through cooking time.
  5. While wings are cooking, combine butter and hot sauce in a large bowl.
  6. Remove wings from oven and cool for five minutes before tossing in hot sauce.
  7. Serve with blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Blue Cheese Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 oz blue cheese
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1/ 2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

How to Make the Blue Cheese Dip:

  1. Combine ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well.
  2. Serve with chicken wings and crudités.

A great gift for Dad

Turkey Burgers

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon spicy mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • Your favorite burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, condiments)

How to Make It:

  1. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well.
  2. Shape into 4 balls and flatten to ¾ inch thickness.
  3. Broil burgers 3 inches from heat for about 7 to 10 minutes per side until juices run clear.

      yea we would have to buy alot of stuff and we would have to have an extra meal to get all this made

    Thanks for the ideas! We may make the wings with the blue cheese dip and a ranch dip, cole slaw will probably go with the meal and for dessert brownies or smores yummy!!!

    I made the wings last night. They were really, really good and so easy! Love that they are baked rather than fried! Served with ranch dressing rather than the blue cheese dip. Yummy!

    Love the wings recipe but I think I’m going to try bbqing my wings to see how they turn out. Think I’ll probably serve them with potato and macaroni salads.
